Cover Art: Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, # 4) by Gail Carriger

Orbit has released the cover of Gail Carriger’s next installment of The Parasol Protectorate series, Heartless.

I am NOT a fan of this cover! I’m hating the model and her hair, and the way she’s looking directly out at us. And the back photo is subpar compared to the amazing art work that was used on the previous books (although the giant castle is pretty cool)! The purple I can deal with but BLAH! Highly disappointed in this cover.

But this cover will not stop me from drinking this book in as soon as I can get my bloody hands on it! I LOVE this series with a passion. They are so much fun, witty, and full of loveable characters.

I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting her on Wednesday at BEA.

I’m nearly done with this book and while it’s a short read it’s full of character and emotion. Not to mention the paranormal aspect. Come September you’ll be wanting to read this book!

Overall

A tad bit boring, could have been better read. I would have enjoyed more lore, a better relationship with the parent and less of a mystery feel.

I think since I’m an avid reader of adult shifter books that this one just fell short of being awesome compared to those books. 🙁

If you follow me on Goodreads and notice how long it takes me to finish a book it usually corresponds to how much I’m liking it or not. It took me over 7 days to finish this book.
