This was an awesome book!
Loved the premise of the o-negative “orphans”.
Joanna uncovers the real story behind so many orphaned children. With the help of Knox, a familiar looking guard. Joanna befriends many orphans before she and Knox escape…..
Joanna joins a world of rebels set against the government. Lots of spoilers I’m dodging here.
Suffice it to say there are a lot of new characters on the outside world that make this story so awesome.
It is action packed and full of interesting characters and settings.

Such a good book.
Comet was the perfect character to watch blossom from a shy young lady to a positive and outspoken woman.
While I don’t understand how anyone could parent the way her parents parented, I did like how it made for great scenes. Parents that aren’t around much in stories allow for the characters to do things most parents wouldn’t allow to happen, such as boys staying the night!
And then there was Tobias. Poor Tobias. He started out a bad boy hanging around the wrong crowd. Then he befriends Comet. They made the most perfect friends and eventually couple. Tobias’ cousin throws in some drama and makes the middle of the story drama packed.
Comet’s friends are there to help her through some tough parts.
At the end we are shown two amazing teenagers who were put through a lifetime of challenges but succeed in endurance and love.

Loved this book!
Quinn was an awesome character. She was complex and interesting. Her aunt was also very cool.
I loved the guest characters such as her mom, sister, and friend.
Malcolm was an interesting character as well. He has deep rooted issues that rear up and cause issues for him and Quinn.
The music element made this book though. Seeing Q and Malcolm mesh when music was involved was bliss.
The fact that they both had a similiar past issue was good because it gave them a firm topic to lean onto each other.
Of course all books need that dramatic plot twist and this one had it. I did not like this one though. I felt each character overreacted to the extreme and made it just a tad bit hard to enjoy or relate to.
I loved the ending. I will read more by this author.

A very intense book.
I loved Dom’s character but did not understand her need to lie about herself to Ben. Her best friend was a hoot and I wish I knew his story.
Ben was incredibly intense. I felt so bad for him and his friends and family.
I was super glad about the ending. Not what one would think would happen but it just worked so well.
I would read more by this author.
