Cover Art: Heartless (The Parasol Protectorate, # 4) by Gail Carriger

Orbit has released the cover of Gail Carriger’s next installment of The Parasol Protectorate series, Heartless.

I am NOT a fan of this cover! I’m hating the model and her hair, and the way she’s looking directly out at us. And the back photo is subpar compared to the amazing art work that was used on the previous books (although the giant castle is pretty cool)! The purple I can deal with but BLAH! Highly disappointed in this cover.

But this cover will not stop me from drinking this book in as soon as I can get my bloody hands on it! I LOVE this series with a passion. They are so much fun, witty, and full of loveable characters.

  4. Okay, so I saw the cover on one of the blogs, and I loved it. What I did not see however, is the model’s face! That.. it’s just.. why is it different than the others?!

    1. She’s actually the same model as the other 3 covers. I think a combination of things is making her look bad. The hair for one and the fact that she’s looking dead straight at the camera!

  5. This is awful! It looks like she is missing hair on top of her head. I really hope that the publishers see lots of negative feedback and CHANGE it. The other covers are so great, this is a serious disappointment.

    1. I like the hat as well. Just not the hair or maybe the placement of the hat. IDK! It needs fixed and I hope all the negative feedback/reactions will enlighten Orbit and they’ll make a change. 🙂
