The Undead Next Door (Love at Stake, Book 4) by Kerrelyn Sparks

Finished this lovely book last evening. It was an interesting vampire falls in love with a mortal story. Jean-Luc, a French fashion designer, moves to Texas to get out of the spot light so he can come back in 25 years posing as his son. He meets Heather at his grand opening of his new store because he caught her sketching his designs. Only he finds out that she’s just what he likes in a woman. He’s be relationship deprived for many years thanks to a rival vampire he’s nicknamed Lui, who slays Jean-Luc’s love interests.

A scene happens that Jean-Luc invites Heather to come work for him, and then Lui shows up, Jean-Luc asks Heather to sneak out the back but she doesn’t and comes to his “rescue” by whipping Lui with silver looped belts. Strange? Yes, but it’s the beginning of their crazy love story.

It wasn’t crazy macho like some previous books I’ve read. It was a bit more believable and down to earth.
Overall, 8/10.
