Short Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate

Fallen by Lauren Kate

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.
Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

My Grade: 3/5

There was lots and lots of hype for this book that it made me think it was going to be super awesome. I’m afraid it lacked in the awesome department.

The beginning of this book was terrible and I mean it was just all over the place lacking in real substance. But I was determined to give this book my full attention.

The ending was awesome and should really have been used as the beginning and worked from from that point on.

The main characters were likeable. The overall plot was okay. I think I’d like to read more but I’d hope that the author would step it up a bit. :)]

  1. […] Book 1, Fallen is available and feel free to read my review. […]

  2. I want to give this series a shot. I mean, the covers are gorgeous. I’m a dude I would *proudly hang posters of them around my room. I’m more of a Hush, Hush guy though, which I really enjoyed and am surprised I haven’t read Crescendo yet. Once again, **amazing covers.

I hear that there isn’t enough action going on in Torment from a co-worker. Or, more that there IS action, just that our main character isn’t a part of it…

I’ll let you know if this falls into my lap.

*Maybe not proudly. I might be a bit ashamed. But they are gorgeous.
**I would LOVE a Hush, Hush poster in my room. Badass cover.

  3. I haven’t read Torment yet, although I’ve had it since BEA 2010. :(

I actually had a Hush, Hush poster and just went looking for it to send it to you but I think I remember finally tossing it in the trash. :( So sorry!
